Day two was pretty uneventful (at least for Don and I). Melody and Jessie took advantage of the amenities here at the Summerfield suites, while Don and I lazed around and watched TV, relaxing as much as possible before the 14 hour flight.
We did leave the compound once though, if only to go to the Macaroni Grill for lunch/early dinner. The food was good, but possibly too good as i feel a little over stuffed from the twice baked lasagna. Melody took a bite of her Portabello Stuffed Ravioli, and realized quickly that portabello mushroom wasnt supposed to taste that much like chicken. So after a quick switcheroo, her replacement meal arrived and she bit in with some reservation to begin with.
We are about 10 minutes away from leaving to go to LAX where we’ll board QANTAS for 14 hours to sydney. Let’s hope the meals have a vegetarian option, otherwise melody may have to give up her diet choice a little earlier than expected.
Next stop, Sydney for 2 nights.

so when you say 14 hours. Is that 14 hours in the air?
Yep – 14 hours in the air. It’s not the worst i’ve been on either. I think the flight to Auckland from LAX was around 16 by the end of it. Plus when you factor in lay overs, the long flights add up even worse.
Im in an internet kiosk in Alice Springs (Central Australia where the big rock is), so im waiting to post the other blog entries when i get back to a non-kiosk connection. Im paying $2 per 3 minutes for internet here. Gotta go….flying to Cairns in 15 minutes (Barrier Reef). Will write more soon.
so glad you guys are having fun… very jealous. hi to melody.
