Today was fairly uneventful. We rose at 6:30, so we could leave to arrive at the airport by 8:00am. Don and Jessie were flying to Brisbane to be picked up by my parents. They are staying in Toowoomba for the next 4 days, while Melody and I flew to Ayers Rock. We will be doing a ‘safari in style’ which as far as i can tell, means that they provide the sleeping bags and tents, instead of us bringing our own. We took a 35 minute bus from Alive Springs Airport to Alice Springs City, where we are staying overnight in the Alice Springs Voyager’s Resort. It is fairly nice, and its more than good enough for our 12 hour stay (we are getting picked up at 6:10am for the start of the safari).

This afternoon we took a brief walk into town (15 minutes away from our resort), and picked up some food for breakfast in the morning. We arent sure if they’ll feed us for this first day, so we figured its better to be safe than sorry.

Now we’re waiting for the pizza hut pizza to arrive, and then we’re off to bed. I think our body clocks have adjusted enough now, although i am still waking up at 3 and 5am each night. That’s okay with me for now though, as long as i can keep falling back to sleep quickly.

Tomorrow…Safari in Style….Ayers Rock, Red Dirt and all that good stuff. Maybe even some camel riding…. who knows.
