34 hours after leaving Brisbane…..we are back in banner Elk. Fire Ants welcomed us back to our car in the charlotte airport parking lot. That was fun. Today was our travel day, where we went from Port Douglas to Cairns to Brisbane to Toowoomba. We flew with Virgin Blue from Cairns to Brisbane (2 hour flight), and then split up into a couple of cars for the drive back to Toowoomba. Today was really the first time we have really relaxed (Somewhat), as we only did something in the morning. We got up and went to the Bird Habitat (dont remember the exact name), where you pay an entry fee, and get breakfast and entrance into a wildlife habitat. Today was our trip to the Outer Reef. We arrived at the Marina early, and had some breakfast at Soul and Pepper for the second day in a row. We boarded at 9:30 and the catamaran pulled away at 10:00am ready for the 90 minute journey to the outer reef. Quicksilver Reef Tours served free  [ Read More ]

Quick entry for today. Up at 9:00am in Alice Springs. Bus to Airport. Paid $2 per minute for internet. Fly to Cairns. Picked up by parents. Drove to Port Douglas (45 minutes away from Cairns). Checked into 3 bedroom apartment on beach front (almost). Had dinner (Wood-Fired Pizza) in Port Douglas. Saw a 9ft Python  [ Read More ]

Today were were able to sleep in until 5:40am. We had breakfast over a heated discussion about the metits of mixing vegemite with other condiments and spreads, and which bread-product it was best placed on.
