A week ago, i started my goals for the week, and the month of february. Here’s what they were.

Goals for February 1st-February 7th, 2010

  • Weigh myself, so i can record it as a starting point
  • Do at least 20 push-ups each morning and 20 push-ups each night
  • Go for a 1 mile jog on Monday, Tuesday and Friday.
  • Lose 2.5 pounds this week (and keep it off)
  • Find and try out websites or applications to manage these goals
  • Start pulling together the pictures of the house renovation for before/after montages — at least get the upstairs guest bedrooms done
  • Pay off half of the Lowes Credit Card that we used for the house renovation (we have that money set aside already)
  • Research balance transfer credit cards with Melody to consolidate our debt from the house renovation

Goals for February, 2010

  • Lose 10 pounds (and keep it off)
  • Have all of the before/after pictures pulled together for the house renovations, ready for making into a montage/FlickR set.
  • Be running at least 3 times per week, for at least 1 mile at running pace + 1 mile at jogging pace

As it stands today, i’ve made progress on almost all of them. Here’s the crossed off/successfully completed list:

  • Have all, or as much as possible debt consolidated onto a balance transferred card, so we’re paying lower interest/lower monthly payments starting in March.

As you’ll notice, the loss of 2.5 pounds didn’t happen. My guess is that i didnt eat well enough, or a significantly reduced amount to warrant that 2.5 pounds. This week, i have a plan to decrease the bad foods, increase the good ones, and increase my activity level as well. I am very happy that i succeeded with the other goals, and am therefore well on my may to achieving the monthly set. But i will have to knuckle down, especially with the weight loss item if i want to lose 10 pounds by the end of February.

So, without further ado, here are my goals for Week 2 of February 2010.

Goals for February 8th-February 14th, 2010

  • Do at least 40 push-ups each morning & night and 40 sit-ups/crunches each morning and night
  • Go for a 2 mile run/jog At least 3 times this week.
  • Lose 3 pounds this week (and keep it off)
  • Start pulling together the pictures of the house renovation for before/after montages — downstairs living room & entrance sets at least
  • Sign up for Balance Transfer Credit Card (requires Melody’s assistance)

So there you have it. Another week’s goals written down, and i think they are very much achievable. I mean, i’m not breaking any records with these things, but I’m not attempting to. This is simply to get me motivated, and accountable to myself. It’s worked well this week, and i’m hoping to continue the trend. I’ve kept the 10 pound weight loss on the monthly goal list, because i think it’s still do-able. I just have to work harder this next 3 weeks. I wouldn’t be surprised if i find myself cursing the lack of 31 days this month, if i fall 2 or 3 days short of my goal though.

    One Response so far.

    1. Your listing your goals has inspired me to do the same. I think once you write them out there, you tend to be a bit more accountable to yourself since others are reading it!

Also, Matt’s grandmother enjoyed your photos of the house renovation & snow. She misses her home in Knollwood (it actually is still for sale, on Holly St) and she talks about it all the time. She’s here visiting us for 2 weeks.

      Love & miss you! Lori
