Melody Status: 8:00am Sunday
Last night went as well as we could hope. Melody slept through from about 1:30am until 6:00am, with only one wake-up. There’s been no more nausea, and the pain level on the smiley-face/frowny-face scale is now hovering around a 4 or 5.
The most important thing though, is that the bowel surgeon came in this morning and said two very awesome things:
- Melody can have the IV Drip taken out, and she can go on solid foods
- Melody can probably go home this afternoon.
We’re pretty excited about those two things.
He did make the comment that we may need to order a moving van though to remove all the stuff we’ve brought in.
So…right now we’re waiting on breakfast to arrive. Melody has attempted to interject and get them to bring some french toast instead of the cream of wheat. We’re not sure if they’ve updated their orders to reflect her new dietary allowances. So…in the next few minutes we’ll find out if she has to order something new, or if they get the new instructions in time.
I had a better night of sleep…still not great, but i also slept through from 1 to 6am.
Melody’s parents are getting breakfast for themselves at the moment, and we’re just hanging out here in the room. I’ll probably still switch shifts with them again this morning so i can go home, get some breakfast, take a shower (much needed), and watch the soccer. Then, in the early afternoon when Melody is supposed to be able to check out, i’ll head on back with a stack of moving boxes.
