This is going to be a very quick post.  I promise I’ll come back and add in all the details later, (funny and otherwise) but for now, I’ll keep it short and sweet. As Nick mentioned, I have had a couple of bad days.  I had several very nauseous spells that were really awful.  I  [ Read More ]

Stumbling around the interwebs the last couple of days I found these gems. Not like i needed any more reason to hate Glenn Beck, but when he takes aim at the World Cup for no apparent reason…well…i have to increase my dislike for the guy. Here’s some of his quotes about the world cup: “BECK:  [ Read More ]

Last night went as well as we could hope. Melody slept through from about 1:30am until 6:00am, with only one wake-up. There’s been no more nausea, and the pain level on the smiley-face/frowny-face scale is now hovering around a 4 or 5. The most important thing though, is that the bowel surgeon came in this  [ Read More ]

today was interesting. I left the hospital around 9:30am, and headed home to grab a bite to eat, watch the world cup, and sleep. I needed to recover from the last couple of nights with Melody, and then also to gear up for what might be 2 more there as well. I grabbed some bojangle  [ Read More ]

Last night was pretty difficult. Melody had a lot of pain, a lot of nausea, and not a lot of sleep. This morning she was still struggling, but trying to snooze as much as possible. [EDIT: this post used to be 10:25pm Saturday..but i meant Friday....guess the sleep deprivation got to me] Melody’s been up and walking around a few more times, which is good. But just recently she started getting a pretty bad headache, and is now back to being nauseous. Obviously she’s getting some medication for it, but  [ Read More ]

Most of this is as described by Melody’s parents, and also Melody. I’ve been at home since around 10:30am when we switched shifts. Melody is feeling much better than this morning, but still not anywhere near 100%. She has been up and walking a little on her own (while holding the rollable IV-drip of course),  [ Read More ]

Long night last night. Melody probably got about 2 hours total sleep by her account. I got about 3 I think, interspersed with waking up to help out, and try to pay attention when the nurses came in. The nurses last night were great. Kristen and Beth were the opposite of what you might assume  [ Read More ]

Today I had the unfortunate situation of having to balance being with Melody in the hospital, with an important (as i view it) work commitment. Fortunatley for me, Melody’s parents were here, and took my place, and the hospital pager i was given, while i returned to work for a couple of hours. I missed  [ Read More ]
