We had our last game of indoor soccer for this season, and if we won, we’d win the league….again.

I was hoping that some exercise might exorcise the funk that i’ve been dealing with for the last few days. Spoiler alert…it didn’t.

We didn’t have our regular goalkeeper, and we didn’t have our full roster either. We only had one substitute, and considering that I was at 1/4 speed after being sick for 3 days, we really only had 1/4 of a substitute.

The other team scored first, after about 35 seconds. That was a mistake on their part. We kind of laughed it off, and proceeded to score 5 in the next 4 or 5 minutes. That kind of demoralized but motivated them at the same time. I think they realized pretty early on in the game that they were going to lose, and probably lose by a lot….but that just meant that a couple of their good players took it a little too seriously form then on.

The referee stopped scoring the match after we were winning 9-1. I think we scored at least 7 or 8 after that, and the other team scored 2 as well. So i think the final score was 17′ish to 3.

So….we won….again. We went undefeated…again. We ended the season with 6 wins, 1 tie, and a whole bunch of goals scored. Here’s the screenshot of our stats going into the final match: (we’re the “Easy Riders”)

Adding on tonight’s score, it shows we’re pretty good…obviously…but there were at least a couple of decent games against the 2nd and 3rd placed teams. Next season we may step up into the next league level, but the problem we have is attendance. In the league we’re in, we can get by with only one substitute. If we step up a level, we’ll have to make sure that we have at least 3 or 4 on the bench for every game, otherwise we’ll just get out-run.

Anyway….another season down…another season won. Now the focus shifts to our outdoor season, which is already underway. I haven’t played in the two games we’ve had due to injury and illness, but we’re undefeated there too……1 win (1-0) and a 0-0 tie.
