I got home this afternoon, and there was a package sitting outside my front door. It was in a box of course. It’s pretty cool, and looks sturdy and easy to operate. I’m sure when there’s a crying baby in there, i’ll suddenly forget how the thing works though. Thanks to the generous person/people who  [ Read More ]

Melody was on bed rest today, and here mom was here to help us transition into this new schedule. Nothing of note happened today, except that I was dog-tired at work…but still got a fair bit accomplished by the time 4pm came around. My dad found this old gem, pictured above…from 1991. To commemorate the  [ Read More ]

Melody and I spent the night in hospital at Duke, and it was a long, long night. They wanted to put melody on a monitor to get a “trace” on both babies, and what they needed was 20 consecutive minutes of monitoring. The problem, was that the babies wouldn’t stop moving, meaning that the monitor  [ Read More ]

We had our 25 week ultrasound appointment today, at Duke Perinatal in Cary. It was supposed to be quick. It was supposed to be routine. It wasn’t quick. It wasn’t routine. My Friday was rudely interrupted by my, well, job….in that I had to actually work today. Once I got over that depressing thought, I made some really good progress on a few projects. Little did I know, it was all leading up to some good lunch, and then some good dessert after dinner. For lunch….it  [ Read More ]

Today was highlighted by one thing. An awesome way to protect your valuables that you may have stored in your trunk. Garrison and I saw this in the parking lot of the bank beside our office building. This guy is serious. If you can’t see it in this image…here it is zoomed in: I think  [ Read More ]

Today was the summer conference for the Bladen and Columbus County School districts, which meant i taught two sessions (one before and one after lunch) about Google Docs.   The sessions went well, but we definitely struggled with the wireless network….but in the end it all worked out. I got really good feedback from  [ Read More ]

I had to drive to Myrtle Beach tonight, as i am teaching a summer conference session (on Google) for the Bladen and Columbus County School districts. I do this every year, and it’s a good way to make a quick buck, but it’s also rewarding to see some of the teacher’s minds start racing with  [ Read More ]
