Shower Day. People Day. 50 people in the house day. Seriously…i think at one point today there had to be more than 50 people in the house. The kitchen was full. The dining room was full. The living room was full. The upstairs former office/bonus room was full. The house was full. And you could  [ Read More ]

Today was the final push to get the house ready for the shower this weekend. That meant Jessie was cleaning the house, while Don and I were working on the bathroom. We made good progress, as we got the plumbing fixed, the toilet removed, and everything cleaned up ready for me to finish the few  [ Read More ]

We did some prep work, but the bulk of the cleaning and preparing will occur tomorrow. I did get some  [ Read More ]

Tiling Started today. After a trip to the Lowes in Apex, and then a trip to the Lowes in Durham to pick up what wasn’t available in Apex (dammit), we started tiling just after lunch. Several hours later, we had made good progress. Enough to be happy about for sure.

Today was Friday, the end of a long DIY week, and yet, it will precede an even longer weekend of work. I powered up with Chubby’s Tacos for lunch, then headed home to get started. Melody’s parents were in town again to help, and our plan was to get as much of the tiling on  [ Read More ]
